Chemistry and teaching are two passions in my life. I recently graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I have been an academic tutor for general and organic chemistry at my university's tutoring center for 2+ years. For general chemistry, I have experience tutoring it for health science (i.e., nursing, kinesiology), chemistry, biochemistry, and biology majors. I am also open to tutoring high school level chemistry. In addition to instructional support, I empowered students with time management, organizational, and study skills that will better prepare them for their courses during 1-on-1 and group tutoring (up to 3).
In particular, I have taken additional, advanced courses in organic chemistry (Advanced Organic Chemistry, Bioorganic/Bioinorganic, Organic Structure Determination), and I have conducted undergraduate research for 2+ years in several topics (polymer chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, total synthesis). My experiences in organic chemistry have granted me extensive knowledge of mechanisms, laboratory techniques, and scientific writing.
I have always been passionate about teaching, from guiding my peers in study sessions to working as a tutor. My primary method of tutoring is to review topics and/or go over example problems and then guide the student through practice problems on their own. I am open to discussing group rates. I have a cancellation policy where lessons canceled or skipped with less than 8 hours' notice will be charged the full cost of the session. Please contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson.
