I’m Jasmine, and I graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Linguistics, where I studied how people learn, process language, and build understanding across complex systems. I am currently completing post-baccalaureate college-level science coursework with a pre-medical focus, including biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and other STEM subjects. Since returning to school, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, including my science and math prerequisites. This academic background allows me to tutor math, biology, chemistry, physics, general science, study skills, and reading or writing support with clarity and structure, especially for students who feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin.

I have been teaching and tutoring since August 2023. I have experience working one-on-one with students ranging from middle school through college in academic support and informal peer tutoring settings. My work has included exam preparation, strengthening foundational concepts, and improving study strategies over time. Rather than emphasizing memorization, I focus on helping students understand how ideas connect, to recognize patterns, and identify where the confusion starts. I adapt explanations to individual learning styles, break material into manageable steps, and guide students toward independent problem-solving so they build confidence and long-term skills.

In addition to my academic training, I work in healthcare as an Emergency Dept Technician. This role has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to explain complex information clearly under pressure. As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are treated as part of learning. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but to help them feel capable, organized, and in control of their learning. I am easy to reach, respond quickly, welcome student and parent input, and offer long-term mentorship. Please reach out with any questions or to schedule your first lesson!

Classics

Classics

For classics, I bring a strong background in language, history, and analytical reading that supports students studying classical literature, mythology, and ancient civilizations. My academic training in linguistics has given me a deep understanding of how languages develop and how meaning is constructed in texts, which helps students better understand classical works in context. I help students connect themes, historical settings, and literary devices so ancient material feels relevant and understandable rather than distant. My approach emphasizes close reading, vocabulary development, and discussion-based learning to strengthen comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Earth Science

Earth Science

For earth science, I support students in understanding both the conceptual and real-world aspects of the subject. My science coursework and ongoing STEM studies allow me to explain topics like geology, weather systems, and Earth processes in a clear, structured way. I focus on helping students visualize processes, understand cause-and-effect relationships, and apply scientific reasoning rather than memorizing isolated facts. I often use diagrams, step-by-step explanations, and guided practice so students build confidence with scientific vocabulary and problem-solving.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

For elementary students (K–6), I focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. I have experience working one-on-one with learners at different ability levels and understand the importance of patience, structure, and positive reinforcement at this age. I break tasks into manageable steps, use clear examples, and adapt explanations to match each child’s learning style. My goal is to help young students develop confidence, good study habits, and a positive attitude toward learning that carries into later grades.

I teach students how to support claims with evidence, improve clarity, and write with purpose rather than just completing assignments. My goal is to build strong writers who understand the process behind effective essays.

For music production, I help students understand both the creative and technical sides of making music. I guide learners through concepts like sound design, arrangement, recording basics, and workflow organization. My approach balances creativity with technical skills so students can turn ideas into finished projects. I emphasize hands-on learning, problem-solving, and building confidence with digital tools.
Public Speaking
