I graduated from Pomona College in 2024 with a BA in history, specializing in medieval Central Asia. During my studies, I took courses in American, European, African, East Asian, South Asian, and Middle Eastern history, so I am familiar with many different regions and their respective historical traditions. I also wrote over 10 research papers of 15+ pages, so I am a comfortable writer, editor, and researcher. After graduating, I taught English in Uzbekistan as part of a Fulbright. I worked at a local state university, where I oversaw four classes of 15 students each. I learned how to design lesson plans to tailor concepts and learning objectives to the specific needs of my students. I also gained experience in articulating difficult concepts when faced with a language barrier. This experience helped me gain the patience and problem-solving skills necessary to reach students and help them understand difficult concepts.
Along with tutoring, I currently volunteer at the International Rescue Committee as an English-language teacher and an assistant in a preparatory course for the US citizenship exam.
