I became a teacher because I know firsthand what it feels like to struggle with learning. When I was younger, I had to work hard to understand and retain what I was reading, and I often needed help advocating for myself in the classroom. Those experiences shaped how I approach teaching today; I want every student to feel supported, understood, and empowered to succeed, no matter their starting point.
I assistant taught sixth-grade English and have a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. Most of my experience is with upper elementary and middle school students, though I enjoy supporting a wide range of ages. I’ve worked with students in classroom settings as well as one-on-one, helping with homework, essays, reading comprehension, and study skills. My approach is patient and encouraging, focusing on breaking skills into manageable steps, checking in often, and celebrating progress so students can build confidence and independence.
I aim to create a positive, low-stress learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and advocate for themselves. I believe every student can find strategies that work for them, and I love helping them discover those tools. My goal isn’t just to help with assignments, but to give students skills and confidence that last far beyond any single lesson.
