About Drew

Bio

I'm a junior at USC studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Over the past three years, I've tutored high school and college students in finance, microeconomics, macroeconomics, business fundamentals, and analytical writing. My approach is rooted in first-principles thinking. I help students understand why economic systems, financial markets, and business strategies work the way they do by building on foundational concepts rather than relying on memorization.

I've worked with students across different skill levels, from introductory courses to competitive recruiting preparation. I created and ran a mentorship program for diverse students seeking investment banking roles, tutoring participants on financial modeling, case interviews, and the technical concepts needed for analyst roles. This taught me to break down intimidating subjects, such as DCF valuations or market equilibrium, into clear, actionable components. In microeconomics, I connect theories to real-world scenarios, such as pricing strategies. In macroeconomics, we build from the basics of GDP and inflation to understand how monetary policy affects economies.

My tutoring draws on practical experience as a summer analyst at Bank of America and Credit Suisse, allowing me to show how classroom concepts apply in fundamental finance roles. As National Treasurer managing an $875,000 budget, I learned to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-technical audiences. For writing, I teach systematic argument construction and professional business communication. Whether you're working through supply-and-demand analysis, building financial models, or crafting analytical essays, I focus on developing a genuine understanding that extends beyond test preparation.

Approved Subjects

Finance

Finance

I worked as a summer analyst at Bank of America in the Technology, Media, and Telecom group and at Credit Suisse in Mergers and Acquisitions. I built DCF models, LBO models, three statement models, and valuation analyses for live transactions. I can help you understand corporate finance, valuation methodologies, capital markets, and financial statement analysis. Whether you are learning the fundamentals or preparing for a finance career I can break down complex concepts in a practical way.
Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting

I analyzed financial statements daily at Bank of America and Credit Suisse to build models and assess company performance. I understand how the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement connect and how transactions flow through each. I can help you with debits and credits, journal entries, accrual accounting, and understanding how financial statements tell the story of a business. I make accounting intuitive by connecting it to real world applications in investing and corporate finance.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at USC and have applied macroeconomic concepts in investment banking and market analysis. I understand how interest rates, inflation, monetary policy, and fiscal policy impact businesses, markets, and investment decisions. I can help you grasp GDP, unemployment, aggregate demand and supply, and central bank policy. I connect theory to real world events so you understand not just the formulas but why they matter.
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

I study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at USC and have applied microeconomic thinking to business strategy and financial analysis. I understand supply and demand, elasticity, market structures, game theory, and consumer behavior. I can help you work through problem sets, understand graphs, and connect theory to how businesses actually make decisions. I focus on building intuition so you can solve problems on your own instead of just memorizing formulas.
Writing

Writing

I study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at USC and have written extensively in both academic and professional settings. I drafted memos, client presentations, and executive summaries at Bank of America and Credit Suisse where clarity and precision mattered. I can help you with essays, research papers, thesis development, argumentation, and editing for clarity. I focus on making your writing concise and compelling so your ideas come through clearly.
