I’m a writer and educator with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Virginia, one of the top fiction programs in the country with an acceptance rate of <1%. I’ve spent three years teaching college-level writing at UVA, leading first-year composition and fiction workshops and working closely with students of all backgrounds and skill levels. My approach is supportive, practical, and highly individualized—I focus on clear strategies for revision, strong communication skills, and building each student’s confidence and voice. I’ve also worked as an editor with Tin House, Anthology Editions, and Electric Literature, which helps me guide students through everything from academic essays to creative projects and college applications. I love helping students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their work, whether we’re tackling a class assignment or building long-term writing skills.
