I hold a BS in Math-Computer Science from UC San Diego and an MA in Education from UC Santa Cruz, and I have six years of experience helping students succeed in mathematics. I spent four years teaching high school math in the classroom, working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and designing lessons that made complex concepts clear, accessible, and engaging. During that time I taught courses such as Algebra, Geometry, and Integrated Math, and I also served as a team lead, supporting new teachers and helping align curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have spent two years as a professional tutor working one on one with students from middle school through early college, including learners with ADHD, dyslexia, processing challenges, and other learning differences. I take a patient and individualized approach, focusing on understanding each student’s strengths, areas of need, and preferred ways of learning. My goal is always to help students build confidence as well as skill, and I tailor explanations, visual supports, and practice problems to meet each learner where they are.
Whether I am reteaching foundational skills, supporting students through advanced coursework, or preparing them for assessments, I prioritize clarity, encouragement, and steady progress. I believe every student can succeed with the right support, and I work to create a positive, structured environment that helps them grow not only in math but also in their study habits and problem-solving abilities.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have taught Algebra 1 for several years, helping students build a strong foundation in key concepts such as linear equations, inequalities, functions, systems of equations, and basic polynomials. I focus on making abstract concepts clear and accessible through step-by-step instruction, examples, and practice problems. I emphasize problem-solving strategies and critical thinking to help students apply their skills to real-world situations. My goal is to foster confidence and mastery, preparing students for success in higher-level math courses.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have taught Algebra 2 for 4 years, helping students master key concepts such as functions, polynomials, rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and quadratic equations. I focus on breaking down complex topics into clear, understandable steps and providing practice that reinforces both procedural skills and conceptual understanding. I also emphasize problem-solving strategies and real-world applications to make the material engaging and relevant. My approach aims to build student confidence, prepare them for standardized tests, and lay a strong foundation for future math courses.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I hold a BS in Math-Computer Science and have built multiple personal projects that apply core computer science principles, including programming, algorithms, and data structures. I have experience tutoring students beginning their programming journey learning. I focus on helping students understand concepts through hands-on practice, clear explanations, and problem-solving exercises tailored to their learning style. My goal is to make programming approachable, engaging, and rewarding while building confidence and practical skills.
Geometry

Geometry

I have taught Geometry for three years, guiding students through foundational and advanced concepts. My instruction covers points, lines, angles, triangles, polygons, circles, and three-dimensional figures, as well as reasoning, proofs, and problem-solving strategies. I focus on helping students develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills, using clear explanations and hands-on examples. My goal is to make Geometry accessible and engaging, building confidence and preparing students for higher-level math courses.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have taught trigonometry concepts extensively through both Geometry and Pre-Calculus courses. I spent two years teaching Geometry, where I introduced students to right and oblique triangles, the unit circle, and trigonometric ratios. Additionally, I taught one year of Trigonometry-focused Pre-Calculus, covering advanced topics such as identities, graphing, and solving trigonometric equations. I focus on helping students understand both the conceptual reasoning and practical applications of trigonometry to build confidence and problem-solving skills.
