Hi, I’m Halle! My journey as an educator began in the outdoors, where I facilitated wilderness leadership expeditions that helped students develop communication skills, grit, and self-awareness. My experiences in the outdoors inspired me to pursue graduate studies in educational psychology and dedicate my career to empowering students’ growth through learning.
I specialize in essay writing, English, reading comprehension, and humanities/social science coursework. I help students learn to brainstorm and organize ideas, write essays of all formats, understand challenging readings, and improve study skills. I have four years of experience working with middle and high school students—both in academic settings and on outdoor expeditions—and I love empowering students to grow into more confident, curious, and joyful learners.
My graduate training in developmental psychology has deepened my understanding of how students learn best, and I bring that insight to all my tutoring sessions to make the material more engaging and learning more effective.
I earned a B.A. in Sociology (with a minor in Spanish and Latin American Studies) from Barnard College, Columbia University, and I’m currently completing my M.A. in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to supporting your learning goals!
