I did extensive research in Industrial Organization/Health Economics/Labor Economics while at UPenn under the Economics departments across schools most of those 4 years. I also had a stint at both Harvard Business School and Harvard University conducting research in Industrial Organization/Economic History. After my research career, I pivoted my skills towards my current career in Data Engineering. I've worked at different types of high-growth startups, from those with <10 people to those with hundreds across different scales (Bootstrap -> Growth Equity). My research and startup careers give me the unique ability to dive deeply into topics, create and lead projects from scratch, scope projects appropriately depending on org resources, and plan for the future. I've worked across the data 'value chain', from creating advanced AI models for predicting corporate valuation and customer behavior, to building scalable data systems that fit into existing flows. I also manage quantitative strategy for the investments of multiple clients across different age ranges. Given my clients' personal and financial goals (e.g. proximate retirement), I back out their inferred risk appetite. I then optimize allocations across asset classes; within those asset classes, I further diversify returns by investing in factors established in the finance literature. Because of mutually established trust, I have been successful in keeping clients invested and benefit from the long-term factor premia over market returns. I've worked with students in Elementary School all the way to College. I've been teaching for ~10 years. I've taught in personal 1:1 sessions in the home; I've taught in the classroom in-person at top boarding schools (e.g. North Mount Hermon); I've taught over Zoom to high school and college students across the Globe.
