I’m Andrew! I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Computer Science, a combination that gave me both a strong technical background and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly. In college, I especially enjoyed classes where professors broke down challenging material into approachable steps and connected it to the real world. That same style has shaped my own approach to teaching: I aim to make learning both clear and engaging, while helping students build confidence in their abilities.
I have several years (3+) of teaching and tutoring experience, working with students from elementary through high school. I’ve taught robotics, computer science, and mathematics in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My methods depend on the age and needs of my students, sometimes using interactive activities and storytelling for younger learners, and other times focusing on exam preparation, study strategies, and project-based learning for older ones. No matter the subject, I always make sure students leave each session with a stronger grasp of the material and practical ways to keep improving on their own.
In addition to formal teaching roles, I’ve also volunteered as a mentor and team coach, where I’ve seen firsthand how patience, encouragement, and consistent feedback can help students overcome challenges. These experiences reinforced my belief that learning is not just about the subject matter, but also about building resilience, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
I want to support my students as much as possible, so I always welcome feedback or resources from parents and learners to tailor lessons to their goals. My aim is to make tutoring a positive, motivating experience where students feel supported, capable, and ready to succeed.
