Hi! My name is Inori, and over the past five years, I have tutored students of all levels, from middle school through college. I specialize in college application essays and the admissions process. Having gone through the process myself, I understand the challenges that come with preparing applications and can help students overcome barriers to writing. My students have successfully been admitted to top universities including Stanford, Princeton, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. Not only do I have the academic expertise necessary for this role, I always bring an empathetic and patient approach to encourage my students with every session.
As for my own education, I attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and received a B.S. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science. I returned to MIT and also received a M.Eng. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science. I was offered admissions to all University of California campuses, as well as several other top universities, and I believe that every student is capable of crafting a unique and individualized story that will help them stand out!
My tutoring approach is highly personalized. I begin by getting to know each student's backgrounds, goals, learning styles, and interests, and I adapt my guidance to fit their specific needs. When it comes to college applications, this includes helping brainstorm topics, outlining and structuring drafts, and polishing final essays. I also work with students on interview preparation, resume review, and navigating supplemental materials. I will always make sure to build a supportive environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas, and my goal is to help each student build confidence through their writing that results in stronger essays and a clear story. I hope to help maximize every student's acceptance into a dream school!
