I hold a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics – Statistics option – from California State University, Long Beach, as well as an Associate’s in Mathematics from El Camino College. I’ve also completed certifications in Canvas teaching tools through the Los Angeles Community College District and hold an Advanced Tutor certification from the Reading & Learning Association. My academic foundation and formal training have prepared me to support students in a variety of mathematical subjects, particularly algebra, statistics, and college-level math.
I began tutoring math in 2014 at El Camino College, where I continue to support students in subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus. My tutoring work has included one-on-one sessions, group study facilitation, and remote support using tools like Zoom and Canvas. I’ve worked with diverse student populations, including returning adults, ESL students, first-generation college students, and students with accommodations. In 2018, I became a teaching associate at CSULB, which led to instructor roles at both Platt College and Los Angeles City College between 2021 and 2023. At these institutions, I taught College Algebra, Pre-Statistics, and Elementary Statistics in both in-person and hybrid formats. I emphasized data visualization and real-world application to make concepts more accessible.
I aim to foster confidence in students by breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps and adapting to each learner’s pace. Whether tutoring or teaching in a classroom, my approach remains centered on clarity, patience, and building a strong foundation.
