I am a first-year student at the University of California, Los Angeles double majoring in Political Science and Public Affairs. I’m passionate about community impact and plan to attend law school to pursue sports/entertainment law.
I have several years of experience working with kids of all ages. I’ve tutored elementary and middle school students in math through one-on-one sessions, and I also volunteer at my church as a Kids Leader for 4th and 5th graders. In that role, I work with children of different learning styles and needs, including students with disabilities. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and meeting each student where they are.
My tutoring style is very student-centered. I focus on helping students feel comfortable and supported before diving into academics, because confidence plays such a big role in learning. I adjust my approach based on what works best for the student—whether that’s explaining concepts step-by-step, doing practice problems together, or having more discussion-based sessions.
Overall, I aim to create an encouraging, engaging environment while making sure students fully understand the material and grow more confident in their abilities. I believe that active communication with parents/guardians is crucial to a student's advancement!
