Hello there! My name is Allie. Here is a little bit of personal background:
I graduated from Webster University with a degree in International Relations. That being said, writing and ELA have always been my strong suits, even outside of teaching. Although I do not have a college degree in teaching, I excel in it and I have tons of experience. I'm also certified! I began my teaching journey in St. Louis, MO, where I volunteered as an English teacher for the Immigrant & Refugee Women's Program. At this time, I realized how much I love teaching. I went on to build a small business helping university students (mostly international students) with their college essays. I then moved to Madrid, Spain for a year to receive my TEFL certification and teach English in Spain. I taught in schools and private lessons. My students ages ranged from 4-50's. I mostly taught one-on-one, but also did some work in classrooms. Fast forward to Los, Angeles, CA, where I got a job as a tutor through a prestigious tutoring company. I currently work at an elementary school, where I've been working for over a year. After tutoring small groups for some time, I was recruited to work as an Instructional Aide for the same school, which I'm currently doing now. I also tutor private lessons with SPED students after school, through said tutoring company, and am looking to work even more! I absolutely love teaching, have taught all ages, group sizes, and using many different kinds of methods and techniques. I look forward to answering any questions you may have, as well as hopefully working with you!
