Hello! My name is Ryan and I offer application support for graduate healthcare programs, especially medical school! I'm a UCLA graduate with a B.S. in Psychobiology, earning a 3.93 GPA and a 518 on my MCAT (95th percentile). Currently, I'm a second year medical student at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where I’ve conducted numerous applicant interviews over the past year and will be serving on the Evaluations & Recruitment Committee this upcoming application cycle.

Throughout my academic career, mentorship has always been an immense passion of mine, and I genuinely enjoy helping students who are now in the same position that I was not too long ago. For years I’ve been dedicated to helping students build the skills, mindset, and motivation to achieve their personal and academic goals. At UCLA, I even co-founded a student-led organization known as Altus Initiative to provide mentorship and college application advising for local high school students. I subsequently bring significant experience working with students to guide their college experience and craft meaningful essays.

Since I recently went through the pre-med process myself and now help evaluate applicants from the other side, I can provide expert guidance on what makes an application stand out. I offer personalized, one-on-one support based on real, firsthand experiences, and my services include:

📖 Personal statement feedback
🏆 AMCAS/AACOMAS activities section review
📝 Secondary essay editing
🗣️ Interview prep (mock traditional & MMI interviews)
📈 Ongoing mentorship & accountability check-ins

I myself committed to the pre-med path my junior year of undergrad, so I understand the uncertainty, stress, and pressure that comes with the process. Whether you’re just exploring the idea of medical school, gearing up to apply, or in the midst of an application cycle, I would be thrilled to guide you through it! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about how I can best support you, and I’m excited to work together!

College Counseling

I am a UCLA graduate and a medical student, both of which require thoughtful and creative writing as part of the admissions process. Additionally, I have over 50 hours of experience helping students with their college applications through service organizations at UCLA. I am also passionate about mentorship and co-founded a different organization called Altus Initiative at UCLA that was geared toward helping students prepare for college applications.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I am a current medical student and underwent numerous, extensive interview processes to get into medical school. I have significant experience with 1-on-1 interviews as well as the Multiple Mini Interview format. I also served as a interviewer this past admission cycle, so I am familiar with both sides of the interview process. I have successfully helped various applicants with their interview skills by conducting mock interviews.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

Besides being a UCLA graduate, I am a current medical student and underwent numerous, extensive application processes to get into medical school, which included a personal statement that earned 5 medical school interviews. I have significant experience with reviewing and editing essays and medical school personal statements for applicants.

Competent, patient, and insightful tutor!

Ryan helped me with reviewing my personal statement for medical school. He provided me feedback that highlighted the good aspects of my essay that were already working and pointed out opportunities where I could make my essay more effective by developing a consistent theme, choosing effective personal examples, and being more specific and in-depth when reflecting on what I learned from my experiences. He also gave me advice on word choice, transitions, and structure, and flow. He not only provided feedback but also helped me brainstorm the changes that I could make. Ryan also helped me brainstorm strategies for the medical school re-application cycle. We addressed topics such as the school list, timing, letters of recommendation, etc. Ryan was available, professional, competent, and overall an excellent tutor.

Great for Med school Admission Questions and Mock Interviews

I thought that Ryan really went above and beyond to prepare for our tutoring session and gave me great actionable feedback for my mock interview. For example, he researched the school I mentioned I was preparing to do an interview for to tailor our session. In addition, while I said my answers he would take notes and give me pretty detailed feedback afterwards. I would highly recommend him!

Very patient Teacher

Ryan was very patient and helped me understand my lessons with more insight and reassurance, helped me complete my assignments by never giving me the answer and instead guiding me and going back to what he had just taught me to complete my assignment.
