Hi, I'm Daniel — or DC, if you like!
I hold a BA in English and American Language and Literature from Harvard University and a Master’s in Producing for Film, Television, and New Media from the Peter Stark Program at USC. My favorite movie is Mr. Holland’s Opus, a story about a lifelong teacher whose compassion and high standards shape an entire community. Mr. Holland gave me a blueprint for the kind of educator I strive to be: empathetic, rigorous, and committed to helping students unlock their full potential.
I have nearly a decade of experience as an educator, tutor, and creative coach. I’ve worked with students of all ages on writing, literature, SAT prep, and personal narratives — and no matter the subject, my approach is rooted in clarity, curiosity, and care.
Whether I’m walking a student through a dense literary text, helping them sharpen an essay (or screenplay!), or preparing them for the SAT, I tailor my teaching to their individual strengths and goals. I aim to make each session practical, focused, and engaging — and to leave students with tools they can use long after we finish working together.
I look forward to learning how I can support you!
