I began working as a peer tutor at High School in 2013 where I found my passion for helping students reach their academic potential. After a decade spent continuing my education on the East Coast (B.A. Tufts University, 2019; M.A. Columbia University 2020) and working as a full-time high school teacher, I am back in my hometown to craft meaningful academic experiences for all learners. Students appreciate me for my warm approach, sense of humor, and willingness to challenge them to the height of their abilities. As a result, students report back increases in both their grades and self-confidence. I have over ten years of experience tutoring middle and high school students in addition to three years spent as a classroom teacher.
In college, I worked as a Research Assistant at Boston University School of Education and served as a Writing Fellow at
Tufts University. I have tutored students as young as six years old and as mature as college seniors and tailor my style as needed. My experience tutoring college-level writing translates well when helping students prepare for AP and IB level coursework. Alongside work in higher education, I spent summers in college teaching middle school students enrolled in summer programs in Chicago and Boston.
Understanding the unique learning needs of my students are a top priority for me and a key part of my teaching style. My coursework in cognitive development and experience working with students on Individualized Education Plans have equipped me with the tools and conscientious approach necessary to aid students of all abilities in learning new skills and reaching their academic goals.
