I'm Premere, healthcare research professional and community health educator who has worked with people of all ages in the community to teach people how to practice healthy eating and healthy lifestyle habits. I studied Kinesiology and Exercise Science, with multiple years of playing competitive sports and overseeing public health programs focusing on childhood obesity and health disparities in underserved communities.
Professionally, I worked at Cedars-Sinai for over 12 years managing and implementing community health programs in over 20 community elementary schools. I facilitated health education programs for both children and adults, providing healthy cooking demonstrations and physical activity lessons. The program Healthy Habits was taught to individual classes of 22-26 students independently for hour lessons. I also oversaw data development and collection to evaluate program effectiveness for the participants.
I have also mentored high school students and helped tutoring in math and health science through community volunteer programs. I've developed and facilitated health education presentations regarding healthy eating, physical activity, and mental health to various community groups, including teachers, families, and students. I love helping others learn and feel confident in using new information to advance in skills and improve health outcomes and whatever the goals are that people are trying to reach. Due to working with so many people in community settings, I understand that everyone learns at a different pace and information needs to be presented in ways that each person can connect to in the way that works best for the style of learning.
