I hold a Single Subject credential in English with a English Learner Authorization, and I am pursuing my Masters in Education. I am also working on my Multiple Subjects credential. Prior to teaching middle school, I co-taught fifth grade for a year. I have successfully passed rigorous tests such as CSETs, CBEST, & RICA.

I've had the opportunity to work with TK-12th through being a tutor, instructional assistant, response to interventionist, and substitute teacher. This year most of my tutoring centered on ELA and math for 3rd-6th grade. I can assist with grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing/editing, figurative language, informational text analysis, and other language arts skills, concepts, & ideas. I'm also comfortable in tutoring in elementary multiple subject matters such as math, science, english, social studies, etc. I am fluent in Spanish and have conversational Italian language knowledge. I can also assist students who are learning basic level Spanish and Italian.

I strongly believe that all students are capable of learning and thriving with the right supports and scaffolds in place. I do my best to help bridge gaps in knowledge, and I ask that my students do their best. I encourage students to ask relevant and critical thinking questions, Most of my students appreciate my use of examples, real-world scenarios, games, & target practice as they work on enhancing their skills.

I incorporate HSPT and ISEE practice into my English Language Arts class for seventh and eighth graders. For the HSPT, we focus on the verbal, reading, and language sections only.
