Hello! I'm Andrew, a soon-to-be medical school graduate at UCLA with more than 10 yrs of experience in research/publications, MCAT/STEP1, and college/medical school admissions. Whatever assistance you need, I'm eager to support you in realizing your full potential!
Qualifications & Experience:
As a multiple scholarship recipient and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Emory, Harvard, and UCSF (GPA 4.0) with over 100+ academic contributions, I've participated in the admissions process as a screener, reviewer, and interviewer. I also served as a TA in biochem, physiology, biostats and neuroimmunology. Additionally, I've dedicated over 4000 hrs to teaching MCAT/STEP1 (students achieve 92+% percentile) and over 6000 hrs to assist students in the preparation of their admissions at the under/grad/med level to top-tier institutions (refs available).
Why Work With Me:
I become deeply invested in all my students. I always aim to turn my challenges into valuable lessons for them and actively encourage my students to voice their thoughts, as this helps to build their confidence.
In my teaching approach, I prioritize HY content (since 2013) and focus on topics that are frequently tested. I also strive to uncover personal strengths within my students that admissions committees value. With my wealth of experience utilizing various free/paid/licensed resources, I can guide you toward the most effective ones. Furthermore, I believe in fostering a practice-based growth strategy, whether it involves refining your test-taking techniques or conducting exercises like a "streamline of consciousness" to help you identify your unique voice. This, in my opinion, is the most valuable resource I offer.
Lastly, I provide comprehensive support. I can empathize, offer encouragement, and share insights on every aspect of admission applications, publications, and the MCAT/STEP1. Though it may be a lengthy process, I am confident in your eventual success, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
