Hi, I am a full-time Aerospace Engineer with three years of tutoring experience. My engineering job involves using tremendous amounts of calculus, geometry, physics, and linear algebra to fly both rockets and spacecraft. I graduated with both my B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) and M.S. from Virginia Tech in Aerospace Engineering, focusing on guidance, navigation, and control (GNC).
The best skill that my education taught me was how to learn. When confronted with what seemed to be an unsolvable problem, I was shown the framework on how to breakdown a problem into manageable steps. I then would be able to reference the applicable course material or identify the current knowledge gaps in order to solve each step. Plugging it all together, combined with thorough repetition, not only allowed me to learn complex topics, but truly master them.
My senior year of undergrad I utilized my free time to start tutoring in a wide array of math, physics, and engineering courses. I applied the core principles on how I was able to learn and found encouraging results. I taught particularly in the courses of math: calculus, linear algebra, differential equations; physics, and engineering: statics, dynamics, higher level aerospace and mechanical courses. The students I taught regularly went from failing their first exam to getting As and Bs on all subsequent tests. I tutored these students through a mix of one on one, online, and group sessions. If you are a high school or college student looking to improve in these areas, I will be able to help!
Along with my teaching philosophy, I’ve found patience and relatability is key to connecting with any student. I look forward to hearing from you or your student!
