He is a composer, orchestrator, and arranger of original scores for numerous independent films and has written additional music for Hollywood productions like Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Jane the Virgin; he was a score coordinator for the Sylvester Stallone vehicle, Samaritan. He has worked with Hollywood film composers Kevin Kiner (Narcos: Mexico) and Emmy-nominated Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel), and studied conducting with Conrad Pope (My Week with Marilyn) and Angel Velez at the LA Film Conducting Intensive.

Reuven is an expert in music theory and production, and is very knowledgeable in both contemporary music (including jazz, rock, and pop) as well as traditional and classical music. After studying at the Rimon School of Music in Ramat HaSharon (Israel), he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Music Film Scoring program at Boston's renowned Berklee College of Music.

Reuven has taught adult students both privately and in group and classroom settings for over 10 years. For beginner students, he employs a hands-on approach to learning the fundamentals based on practical experience and ear training to pick up theoretical concepts. He also teaches advanced elements of contemporary music composition, orchestration, and arrangement; up-to-date music production (MIDI, DAWs, virtual instruments, stem printing, etc.); and score manuscript engraving using notation software.

Reuven knows his stuff! Not only is he solid with traditional jazz theory (post-60s cool & bop); but he’s got great command of modern chord voicings that emerged in the 60s up to today. Easy going and personable, open to questions & specific needs of the student.

Knowledgeable, patient, kind

Reuven is an outstanding piano instructor. Right from the start, he accurately assessed the skill levels of both my young sons (7 and 6 years old) and myself, tailoring his lessons to suit our individual needs. His expertise is remarkable, yet he's able to break down complex concepts so that even a novice can grasp them. He infuses each lesson with a sense of joy and enthusiasm for the piano, something we hadn't experienced in previous lessons and which has been crucial for all of us, especially my children. I appreciate his patience and kindness.
