My lifetime of work has made me well-acquainted with all aspects of government, politics, political science, social studies, history, and geography. I am a real-world expert in Social Studies, Civics, Geography, History & Journalism, based on a lifetime of work in these areas. I have extensive experience as a public speaker from my many years in civil society and politics.

While not a professional educator, my real-world experience has provided me with the insights and information to help students seeking greater knowledge and understanding in these areas and prepare them for the challenges and requirements they face in their education. I have many years of business development and marketing communications experience as a team leader and independent consultant.

For the past 13 years, I have provided public policy analysis, fundraising, marketing, and strategy for community-based social justice nonprofits. Before that, I developed urban parks in Los Angeles for a national land conservation organization and helped increase the workforce diversity of the entertainment industry. My career also includes serving a number of federal, state, and local elected officials, as well as managing political campaigns.

I'm a big political junkie, though I began my career in journalism and am a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism -- giving me expertise in government, politics, political science, social studies, history, and geography. I regularly volunteer for a number of charities nationwide, and currently serve on both California and Los Angeles citizens commissions, as well as the board of a local healthcare charity.
