Hi! I’m Carson, an incoming University of Chicago student with a passion for helping students build confidence in challenging subjects.
I primarily work with middle and high school students in math, statistics, and SAT prep, covering topics from pre-algebra through calculus. I scored a 1570 on the SAT and have completed coursework through multivariable calculus, statistics, economics, and advanced writing.
Beyond academics, I have extensive mentorship and teaching experience. I’ve tutored peers and younger students in math and writing, mentored middle school students, and founded a free educational program where I designed curriculum and provided individualized instruction. These experiences taught me that great tutoring is less about repeating information and more about finding explanations that actually click for each student.
My teaching philosophy focuses on building intuition first. For math students, that means emphasizing problem-solving strategies and strong fundamentals rather than memorization. For SAT students, I focus on pattern recognition, efficient approaches, and practical test-taking 'hacks' that helped me succeed myself.
Whether you’re preparing for an exam, trying to raise your grades, or looking for long-term support, my goal is to create sessions that are supportive, engaging, and tailored to your learning style. I look forward to working together!
