Hello! My name is Sahana, and I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Public Health. I scored a 91st+ percentile on the MCAT and understand how much the process asks of you—not just in terms of knowledge, but also confidence and mindset. Having taken the exam recently, I know firsthand what it’s like to build a study plan from scratch, manage burnout, and stay calm on test day. My goal as a tutor is to make the MCAT feel less overwhelming and more achievable by breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable concepts while helping you find a study approach that fits you.

At UT Austin, I served as a Teaching Assistant for public health courses, where I led review sessions and developed ways to make challenging material approachable. Beyond that, I’ve worked with students across many stages of learning, from tutoring math for 1st through 8th graders to helping college students in subjects like biology and chemistry. Having worked closely with my peers through both teaching and my role in my college council, I understand how different learning styles and stressors shape a student’s success. I bring that insight into every session, using a mix of structure and flexibility to help students build both mastery and confidence. Whether you’re looking to raise a section score, create a sustainable study plan, or simply regain motivation, I’m here to support you with strategies that are both evidence-based and personally attuned.

College Counseling

College Counseling

College counseling is something I’ve naturally gravitated toward because I love helping students make sense of a process that often feels overwhelming. I’ve gone through multiple competitive admissions cycles myself and have supported peers and younger students with everything from building school lists to crafting strong activities sections, personal statements, and supplemental essays. I also know firsthand how stressful it can feel to doubt your experiences or worry you’re “not doing enough,” and I’ve helped many students push past that. My goal is to make the process feel manageable, empowering, and true to each student’s story.
MCAT

MCAT

Having taken the MCAT twice, I’ve learned how different study plans, schedules, and test-day techniques can shape performance, especially when dealing with nerves. A lot of students assume test-taking is a fixed trait, but it’s a trainable skill. Once you break the MCAT down into patterns, habits, and timing choices, the exam becomes far more manageable than it feels at the start. I ended up scoring 91st percentile on the MCAT after employing these strategies, and since then, I have supported several students in their own journeys, helping them obtain scores that ranged anywhere from 514 to 525. I hope to help students discover their own path to a goal score, supporting them through the process and employing effective schedules and strategies along the way.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I’ve always loved helping people shape their personal statements, because it’s the point where accomplishments turn into a story about who you are. After writing countless essays through undergrad and medical school season, I’ve developed a strong sense of how to craft a narrative that is both structured and deeply personal. Still, I remember how intimidating it can feel to start from scratch, especially when you’re unsure what makes you “stand out.” I want to help students move past that fear and uncover the story they’re already carrying.
