I love to help students to learn math. Each student is different, so I often adjust my teaching method for each individual. I always try to stimulate my student’s interest in math learning. The interest mainly comes from having confidence in math, so my purpose is to build my students’ confidence

Wen is my tutor for my college Algebra class. She is an excellent tutor because she really knows her material and is very good at explaining every step. It is obvious math is second nature to her as she can easily recall all the necessary formulas and explain it in a simple way. Since I have been working with her my confidence in math has improved, as well as my grade. She is very, very patient and easy to work with. She can meet on very short notice and for multiple hours. I have worked with a few different tutors and Wen is absolutely the best. I wouldn't use anyone else but her. I highly recommend her, she knows her stuff and is very talented in teaching.

Wen is helping my daughter with Geometry. She is patient, knowledgeable, and she encourages Shanaya to think through a problem, not just give her the answer. She is very professional; and she is someone I would recommend to a parent.

Wen Li was prompt and professional. She established an easy rapport with my son. Her lesson was systematic and my son appreciated her patient but detailed responses to his questions.

Wen uses knowledge and energy to the tutor table. I get the feeling she has a professional approach with personal involvement in the out come.

She is great in teaching Geometry. Very knowledgeable and patient. Clarifies concepts very well. She is very punctual, caring and concerned about students understanding and daily progress. Watches for every day performance in school and follows up with it.

I like the way that Ms. Wen teaches Chinese for my twin boys because they are very active and not patient, but now they can learn and have fun with Ms. Wen Li.

I believe Wen is a great tutor. She is patient and knows how to explain the math problems that I need help with. I am confident that Wen will help me to be successful when taking my math test.

She was on time and we went over everything I needed to. Also Wen has a very strong Math background.

My daughter was struggling in her high school precalculus class. Wen helped my daughter understand and learn. With her guidance and patience, my daughter now understands and is excelling in her class. Wen was always on time and was willing to stay longer if my daughter needed extra tutoring time. I couldn't be more pleased with Wen. She is a great tutor!

Before we started tutoring with Wen, my son struggled in his Algebra 1 class and got low scores on the tests. After six times tutoring, his grade grew up from D to B, and now he is very confident in math.

Prior to Wen's tutoring sessions, my son was having difficulty with Precalculus and was receiving low C's on his exams. After a month of Wen's tutoring my son is more confident in Precalculus and received an A on his last exam. Wen is a caring tutor who has customized the tutoring sessions to meet my son's needs instead of just reviewing Precalculus computations. I highly recommend Wen and admire her ability to be flexible and adjust to meet an individuals needs.

I am sure this tutor is a good tutor for a lower math or certain people, however she was not a good fit for me.

I had her tutor me in pre-calculus to help me prepare for a test, and i didn't learn anything out of the 90 minute lesson. I received a 35% on the test i took the following day. She is a very hands on, however she was more interested in checking my work then helping me understand any of the material at hand. She had to refer to her notes and my text book to figure out how to do the problems, which I felt I could have done on my own. I hope this review is helpful!

-11th grade pre-calc student

Wen has been tutoring my sons for about two months. She is pleasant and very patient. The boys are very comfortable with her and they are learning quite fast. They also say that she is fun. We visited China after a few lessons and they were able to say basic greetings without difficulty. We highly recommend her!!

I selected Wen very late in the school year with only about 2 months remaining. I have to admit, I along with my daughter were very nervous because she had a low "F" in Geometry. I wasn't expecting miracles, but I was expecting Wen to help my daughter pull her grade up from a low "F".

Wen jumped right in with a very direct approach (accepting no excuses) and took my daughter back to the basics ensuring that there was a clear understanding of the formulas. Obviously, if you don't know the formulas, you cannot solve the problems. My daughter started understanding the formulas and it showed in her classwork (A's), quizzes (A/B's) and tests (B's). I am happy to say that my daughter ended the school year with an "A" on her final test and with a the final grade was very close to a C+ !!

Thank you Wen, we're very grateful because she couldn't have made that progress in such a short amount of time without you!!

Wen Li is a wonderful tutor. She has had multiple sessions with my son for 1st year Calculus and she helped him to raise is grade by 12% through all of the lessons. She is patient and communicates well to the student. She is easy to contact, keeps the parent informed of the student's progress, and she gets results. I would highly recommend Wen Li as a math tutor.

Until just recently, my son Timothy was receiving an F grade for his Geometry 8th grade class. I spoke to his teacher and she recommended a tutor. I was searching for tutors for more than a month and came across Ms. Wen Li. After reading the review from the parents, I decided to hire Ms. Wen Li as my son’s math tutor.

Prior to his first session, Ms. Wen Li met and discussed the plan with me. She asked about the text book and asked me to inform her of his prior homework and test grades. I sent her website where his teacher posts the daily homework, quiz and test.

At the first session, Ms. Wen Li was prepared with the materials, she identified my son’s weaknesses by reviewing the past homework and tests. At the session following, she explained to my son the steps to understand and solve his math problems. Just in one and a half months my son’s second semester grade went from an F to a B+ and we owe it to the patience and teaching method of Ms. Wen Li.

She is thorough, patient and breaks down math problems so my son can understand.

My son's math grade has gone from a C to a B+ in a matter of a couple of weeks! On his previous test for Algebra 2 Trig, he received a 86. Wen makes sure that your child knows the material by asking questions from the school book and testing before she leaves. She is very thorough and knows how to get the student to participate! Thank you WyzAnt for a great tutor!

My son likes the way Wen teaches the Algebra in a step by step method and easy to follow. His excited for his second lesson.

My daughter, a sophomore, is in Algebra 2 / Trig and has definitely gained confidence since her tutoring sessions with Wen have begun. I will definitely recommend Wen to my friends in need of a tutor.

BEFORE ARRIVING TO OUR FIRST TUTOR SESION, WEN ASED FOR A FAX OF THE PRACTICE FINAL FOR HER REVIEW-. SHE ARRIVED ON TIME, PREPARED AND VERY PATIENT EITH MY SON. VERY PROACTIVE!!A FOLLOW UP PHONE

I took the CBEST and passed. For the math part, most questions are very basic arithmetic. Words problems, you need to read them carefully before you answer it. They have algebra and geometry questions on the test, so for some students might need help to review algebra and geometry.

I know how to help students refresh their memories and help them review the formulas and rules to do the problems.

As for the English part, most students can pass it.

Students can trust me to help them to pass this test - CBEST.

I am a native speaker of Mandarin and trained to teach Mandarin. I have taught/tutored students in small classes or one-on-one, and helped them to listen, to speak, to read, and to write the language. All my students enjoyed learning from me.

My experience in tutoring Mandarin would be an ideal match for assisting students from young children to adults who want to learn Mandarin Chinese.

You will learn and practice in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. And how to use Chinese in real life:

how to understand it on the street, speak it on the phone, read it in the newspaper, or write it in a report.

You will find that my lessons are interesting and practical.

Besides helping middle school and high students with math, I have had years of experiences helping students from 3rd to 6th graders for their math study.

Each student improves their grades and doing well on the tests.

Since I speak both Chinese and English, it benefits my students a lot when I help them in English. For example, they can use Chinese to ask me questions when they don’t know certain word in English or don’t know how to ask a question clearly in English.

In addition, I often add interesting things into my lessons. For example, I introduced my students the pop music in sixties, how composers and singers created songs which reflected American society and young people’s thoughts.

As an experienced teacher of ESL, I already have many years of experience helping Chinese students to learn English grammar and composition and I understand how to conduct an interesting and productive lesson.
