Hello, my name is Jamal. I am the father of four kids, two of them are in middle school, and the other two are attending college. I have always been their go-to for any math or science help, which has helped shape me into a great listener and of course a great tutor. I live with my Family in the city of Long Beach, CA. I have a MS degree in Engineering from Vanderbilt University. I worked as a private tutor for math, engineering, and physics for about ten years. During my graduate studies at Vanderbilt University I was assigned as a TA (teacher's assistant) in engineering subjects, which included mathematics, physics, and engineering circuits.
I have experience in both teaching and tutoring in the subject of mathematics, which is the base of all engineering studies. I enjoy teaching math because it is the major tool in engineering studies. I consider myself a proficient math tutor because I not enjoy the subject, but I also understand it extremely well.
I am an outstanding Electrical Engineering tutor because I have a MS degree in Electrical Engineering. I am very knowledgeable in the subject and I understand it extremely well. I have the ability to teach electrical engineering courses from the principals to the graduate levels.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
