I am currently an Applied Mathematics student at California State University, Long Beach with a 4.0 GPA. I am currently an Applied Mathematics student at California State University, Long Beach with a 4.0 GPA. I have a strong background in algebra, calculus (I and II), and statistics, and I especially enjoy problem solving and more logic-based math. Right now, I am taking a proof-based course (Fundamentals of Advanced Mathematics), which has helped me think more deeply about how and why math works, not just how to solve problems. In high school, I also participated in math competitions like the AMC, which further developed my interest in analytical thinking.

While I have not had a formal tutoring job, I regularly help classmates and friends with math. In class, when teachers are busy, other students often come to me for help understanding concepts or working through problems. I am very patient and try to understand how someone else is thinking before explaining anything. I approach it almost like debugging—figuring out where their reasoning started to go off and then helping them fix it. I also try not to just give answers, but instead guide students with hints so they can build their own understanding and confidence.

As a student myself, I understand what it feels like to struggle with a topic, even if it eventually clicks. When I don’t understand something right away, I spend time working through it on my own and researching different explanations until it makes sense, and I bring that same mindset into tutoring. I enjoy working with students at all levels, especially those who are genuinely trying to understand the material but just need a different explanation or approach. My goal is to make math feel more logical and less overwhelming, and to help students become more independent in their thinking over time. I am available for both online sessions and in-person tutoring in the Long Beach area.
