I have worked in education for over 15 years, including 5 years as a tutor, 10 years as a classroom teacher, and currently as a curriculum specialist. Throughout my career, I have supported students across K–12, with the majority of my experience focused on elementary learners in grades 2 through 5. I have taught all core subjects in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade and have extensive experience adapting instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students. My work has included one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, and full classroom teaching with class sizes of up to 37 students, which has strengthened my ability to personalize learning while maintaining high expectations.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in educational leadership. This combination allows me to support students not only with content knowledge, but also with effective learning strategies grounded in research-based practices. As a tutor, I focus heavily on reading and math, emphasizing skill-building, problem-solving, and confidence development. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and capable, so I intentionally build strong relationships and celebrate progress, both big and small.

My tutoring approach is student-centered and data-informed. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and learning gaps, then design targeted lessons that break complex skills into manageable steps. By combining clear structure with encouragement and flexibility, I help students build confidence, develop independence, and make meaningful academic growth.
