I have worked as a professional interpreter for 17 years. My career has taken me into schools, healthcare environments, corporate businesses, and community events, where I’ve had the privilege of bridging communication between Deaf and hearing individuals. This hands-on experience informs my teaching, ensuring students not only learn ASL but also understand its real-world applications.
My teaching and tutoring journey began early in my career, working with students of all ages in classroom settings, after-school programs, and individual tutoring. I’ve taught children as young as 8 years old, college students fulfilling language requirements, and professionals who need ASL for their jobs. Whether one-on-one, in small groups, or in workshops, my goal has always been to make ASL accessible, engaging, and confidence-building.
I take a personalized approach, meeting each learner where they are. My lessons balance vocabulary and grammar with Deaf culture, conversational practice, and real-life scenarios. I believe language learning should feel interactive and encouraging, and I’m passionate about helping each student reach their goals — whether that’s mastering basics, preparing for school exams, or communicating more effectively in their profession.
