I am currently a Master’s student at Carnegie Mellon University studying Computational Biology, with undergraduate degrees in both Biochemistry and Computer Science. During my undergraduate studies, I spent two years working as a tutor, focusing on organic chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics (including discrete math, linear algebra, and multivariable calculus), and introductory coding.
My strongest teaching areas are in the biological sciences and pre-medical coursework. I was accepted into medical school with a 512 MCAT score and am also a published author in this field (ACS, 2022). Through these experiences, I’ve developed a strong understanding of both the academic and application sides of pre-med preparation, and I enjoy helping students navigate coursework, research opportunities, and the medical school admissions process.
Most of my tutoring experience has been with college freshmen and sophomores, but I have also worked with younger students through my involvement with the Researchers for Diverse Scientists organization, where I led classroom demonstrations for K–12 audiences; I am very comfortable adapting my teaching style for learners of all ages.
I believe effective teaching comes from clear examples and structured practice, helping students build both confidence and independent problem-solving skills.
