I am a credentialed mathematics teacher with extensive experience teaching and tutoring students from grades 6 through 12. I hold a California Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a focus on Secondary Education from the University of California, San Diego. In addition to my formal education, I have completed ongoing professional development in curriculum design, differentiated instruction, and the integration of technology to support Common Core standards. My coursework has also included specialized training in meeting the needs of gifted students and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Over the past decade, I have taught mathematics in a variety of classroom settings, including public high schools and charter schools in Los Angeles and San Diego. My teaching experience covers a range of subjects such as Geometry, Algebra I and II, Pre-Calculus, and middle school math. I have worked extensively with diverse student populations, including English Language Learners, students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, and those with special needs. My approach emphasizes personalized learning, adapting lessons to suit individual strengths and challenges, and leveraging educational technology to make math accessible and engaging. In addition to classroom teaching, I have tutored students one-on-one and in small groups, helping learners from elementary through high school build confidence and achieve academic success. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to effectively communicate with and support a wider range of students and their families.
