As an educator with over 20 years of international and domestic teaching experience, I bring a deep passion for helping students succeed academically and personally. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Medieval and British History from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts in Medieval and U.S. History from California State University, Long Beach, and I am currently completing a second master’s degree in education. I also hold a Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science and have been honored by both Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta for academic excellence.
Throughout my career, I have taught students across a wide range of ages—from middle school to adult learners—in classroom settings, one-on-one sessions, and small group instruction. I served as a high school principal in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and have taught English and history in Vietnam, Laos, and the United States. My approach is rooted in fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and academic confidence. Whether I’m helping a student write a compelling essay, understand historical events in context, or build foundational literacy skills, I tailor each session to the student’s individual needs and goals.
I believe that tutoring is most effective when it is both structured and supportive.
