Piano

Piano

I have taught many sections of piano for The Young Americans College (A college of international students). The curriculum including sight reading, proper fingering and form as well as chord improvisation. Music was holiday, musical theatre, spiritual and pop. I have also taught piano at The Orange County School of the Arts. I am a professional piano bar performer, so I can approach playing the piano and sight reading in many different ways. I studied Piano as my primary instrument in a performing arts high school and studied classical piano at Chapman University passing all of piano proficiency in my first semester of college.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I studied choral conducting and music education at Chapman University. Preparing for and teaching accompanied and unaccompanied choir makes me an excellent reader and teacher of sight reading. I have included curriculum in sight reading within every voice class I have ever taught. Also, Music Directing musical theatre at Saddleback College, California State University Fullerton and Cypress college always includes advancing a casts sight reading to get through the material faster. It is also included in all my private voice sessions.
Songwriting

Songwriting

Degree in Songwriting and Music Production at Berklee College of Music - I am an expert in prosody as a writer of musical theatre. I show students how to get more out of their lyric writing and how to set it in a musical way where strong syllables are on a strong beat and flow so effortlessly that singers will thank them! I had to write in every genre at Berklee and I will be attending their masters program specifically in musical theatre songwriting where only 20 students were accepted. I have written boy band songs due to my harmony knowledge from my choral background and can include production skills in the writing process for that 360 degree approach to the songwriting. I am an expert in Logic, Sibelius and learning Dorico including songwriting on ipad with those as well.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

Completely original approach developed over 30 years of coaching to give you the fastest results. Previous students are on Broadway and in every major musical theatre program in the country. I have taught voice classes at The Young Americans College, Saddleback College, Cypress College and the Orange County School of the Arts. Learn from a composer who sheds a deeper meaning in the lyric and it's role in the story. Monologue coaching and college prep are also my specialty.
