Hello!
What makes me a great tutor is that I have technical ability and empathy/intuition in about equal measure. I can relate to you where you are and make the concepts easier to grasp. I am very patient, and I work step by step along side you to make sure you are comfortable. I am happy to work together in whatever way works best for you, whether you want to dig deep into problems and exercises, have a casual language practice conversation, or other.

My language teaching/tutoring experience is with teaching English as a foreign language, both as an intern with refugees, and professionally for a student who had moved from Germany, and for a German student living in Germany.
I also worked for various tutoring companies helping with math, Spanish, and other subjects.
I have been through it all, from honors classes in high school, to community college, to graduating with honors from a difficult University of California school. I have even been through a change of majors from the hard sciences to social sciences, so I have background in both. I studied abroad for one year in Spain where I took most of my coursework in Spanish. I have a BA in anthropology and studied during 2 years for a master's in Chinese medicine. I have a TEFL certificate as well.
I really enjoy tutoring in English and Spanish, including essay and creative writing.
I also enjoy tutoring in math up through algebra, geometry.
On the software side, I can help with Excel and QuickBooks.
