As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a board-certified Nursing Professional Development Specialist and Nurse Executive Advanced, I bring over 20 years of experience in pediatric nursing, clinical education, and nursing leadership. Currently, I serve as a faculty member at Samuel Merritt University, where I have the privilege of teaching and mentoring future nurses in both classroom and clinical settings.

My approach to education is rooted in creating a learning environment that is interactive, supportive, and grounded in real-world application. I utilize active learning techniques such as case studies, role-playing, and case-based discussions to help students develop critical thinking skills and clinical confidence.

Throughout my career, I have held leadership roles including Director of Education and Nursing Professional Development at prominent pediatric medical centers. These experiences have deepened my commitment to fostering professional growth and designing impactful educational programs tailored to the needs of nursing students.

With a strong foundation in pediatric nursing—including 17 years at a stand-alone pediatric teaching hospital—I understand the unique challenges and rewards of this specialty. My goal is to help students navigate these complexities with competence and compassion.
