I have a lot of experience working with kids (ages 4-14), mainly as a camp director and sports coach for the last four years but also as a math tutor for the last three as well. I have worked in small group settings but more frequently in 1 on 1 settings for students who need extra help. My approach is to make learning as fun as possible by relating subjects to a student’s interest and setting objectives and rewards throughout the learning process. I do my best to adapt my teaching to fit the student’s learning style as I understand what works well for some students may not be the best for others.
My main purpose for tutoring is to help students understand the material and develop new learning skills to be successful in life. I try my best to always stay patient, thorough, and engaging. I want to benefit my students as much as possible and am always willing to listen to suggestions and feedback to be the best tutor for your child.
