I am a credentialed high school mathematics teacher with a bachelor’s degree and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. I completed a year-long teacher residency through Teachers College of San Joaquin and am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Learning and Curriculum at National University. My academic and professional background qualifies me to tutor students in pre-algebra, Algebra 1, geometry, Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2, and related high school mathematics topics.
I have taught high school students, generally ages 14–18, in a classroom setting since 2024. My experience includes teaching general education and collaborative classes that support students with IEPs and 504 plans. I regularly provide whole-class, small-group, and one-on-one instruction, including targeted tutoring for students preparing for assessments or completing test retakes.
My approach begins by identifying the specific concept or skill causing difficulty. I then break complex problems into manageable steps and use questioning, visual representations, real-world examples, and multiple solution methods to strengthen understanding. I focus on helping students understand why a method works, communicate their reasoning, correct misconceptions, and become more confident and independent problem-solvers.
