I help students set and achieve goals related to writing, college and career readiness and have a passion for supporting students in taking the next step in their lives. I have 12+ years of professional experience educating and mentoring students at many stages of life, from high school college readiness and 5th grade marine science to college writing and science communication for research professionals.

I have taught in the classroom and have extensive experience with conducting 1:1 writing conferences, of which I have performed 200+ while teaching writing at UC San Diego. I loved academics (I hold a bachelors and two masters degrees) and found success not only because I enjoyed learning but also because I had processes in place to stay organized and learned how to strategically navigate higher education. Mentoring others in finding what works for them is a joy of mine.

I take a student-driven, collaborative approach to tutoring. Students who work with me need enough motivation to identify goals and work towards them in a high-support environment. Tutoring goals are always grounded in learning objectives that break down the larger, more daunting goals of “getting an A in English” or “getting into college”.
