Hi! I'm Ms. Molly, a former classroom teacher with 19 years of Teaching Middle and High School Students. I earned my Master's Degree Summa Cum Laude in Teaching from Seattle University in 2001. I have a valid California Teaching Credential for English Language Arts and History/ Social Studies. I also have a CTEL/ CLAD Credential. I have experience teaching grades 6-12. I have earned the special title of "Teacher of the Year" twice. That is one of my proudest accomplishments.
I specialize in English Language Arts, essay writing, reading comprehension, History/Social Studies, Spanish, and study skills for middle and high school students. I enjoy helping students blend their knowledge of history while developing their writing skills in order to write research projects or any other type of writing that is needed for students' other classes. I taught English as a Second Language for three years. I am also fluent and Spanish and taught Spanish for five years.
My experience with tutoring comes from my work in public schools. I always offered in person tutoring before and after school at least twice a week. During Covid, I did this online. My tutoring sessions were always popular (and always full) at my school. The students told me that the reason they came to my sessions more than other sessions is because they found me approachable, always keeping things positive. I helped them believe in themselves, and that is what my goal is. Let's make school fun!
I believe every student can succeed with the right combination of encouragement, structure, and individualized support. Over my years in education, I've worked with students who are bright and capable but sometimes struggle with organization, procrastination, writing assignments, or knowing where to begin.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and practical. I help students break assignments into manageable steps, strengthen their academic skills, prepare for tests, and develop effective study habits. Let’s do this!
