Hi! My name is Sergio, and I am a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at California State University, Long Beach. I graduated high school summa cum laude as an honor student, and I have always had a strong passion for math, especially Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus. I enjoy helping students take concepts that may seem confusing at first and breaking them down into something clear and manageable.
I have tutoring experience through a Migrant Education Program, where I worked one-on-one with high school students who needed additional academic support. I have also spent years helping my siblings and friends with their schoolwork, which has helped me develop a patient and adaptable teaching style. I focus on explaining concepts in ways that make sense to each student, whether that’s through step-by-step problem solving, real-world examples, or approaching problems from a different angle until it clicks.
In addition to math, I also offer Spanish tutoring. I scored a 5 on the AP Spanish exam, earned the Seal of Biliteracy, and am fluent, allowing me to help students with homework, test preparation, or conversational practice. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive and comfortable environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and become more independent learners over time. I offer flexible scheduling and online sessions, and I am always happy to answer any questions or help students get started. I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!
