Hi there, I am Michael. I am an active College student who is double Majoring in Data Science and Mathematics. I am an Autodidact and have analyzed the various teaching styles that I have encountered as well how much I learned from those teachers. After tweaking my approach a bit I started to teach my friends a small portion of Calculus 1 that had never made it further than Algebra 1 using the method that worked well for me to understand it; taking complex theorems or formulas, making them simpler, and then building back that complexity. Using this style of learning myself has allowed me to pass Derivative Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Statistics with an A. In addition, I always found myself helping other students that had some sort of gap in knowledge in whatever class I was taking often telling me that they were confused when the teacher explained it and that I made them confident in their understanding afterward.
While I don't have any credentials, I have taught all of my nieces and nephews as soon as they needed help and math has quickly become their favorite subject when it was tedious before. Teaching runs in the family as My Aunt is a Junior High Math teacher and my brother had been tutoring Math and Programming since High School. I have done 1 on 1 tutoring with some classmates of mine, one of which had difficulty understanding the concept of multiplication, she could do it she just didn't understand why it worked which surprised me and taught me to be prepared for anything. Because of that I structured each lesson around the chapter at hand as well as breakdown any complexities to be simple enough for a first grader to understand which led her from a 62% all the way up to a 93%.
I have had to figure out a lot on my own and fill in my own gaps, so I say all of this because I want to be the help that I never had. The one thing I love more than seeing the beauty in math is showing someone else how to see it for themselves.
