As a recent high school graduate who went onto the highest math class, AP Calculus, I tutor math from middle school through Pre-Calculus with a focus on patience, clarity, and confidence-building. I’ve had many math teachers over the years, and I’ve based my lesson structure on the one who helped me learn the most—so I know firsthand that it’s an effective plan. I break concepts down into simple, manageable steps and explain them in ways that feel natural and relatable. I’ve also gained valuable experience teaching through helping my younger sisters, which taught me how to be patient, adaptable, and encouraging, especially when students feel stuck or overwhelmed.
A typical session starts with a quick warm-up to review past material or homework (5–10 minutes), followed by a clear, step-by-step lesson on the main topic (30–40 minutes), where I explain, demonstrate, and walk through examples. After that, we go through practice problems together (10–15 minutes), so the student can apply what they’ve learned with my support. We finish with a short review and goal-setting for next time. Whether we’re prepping for a test, building foundations, or catching up in class, I aim to make math feel less stressful and more empowering for every student I work with.
