About Christian

Bio

I am an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho with a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and problem-solving. I scored a 1540 on the SAT, including a 790 in Math and 750 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, which reflects both strong technical ability and strong communication skills. My coursework and independent projects in computational modeling and optics have strengthened my ability to approach complex topics in a structured, logical way.

While I am early in my formal tutoring experience, I have spent a lot of time building a deep understanding of challenging material and learning how to explain technical ideas clearly. My approach emphasizes understanding over memorization so students can apply what they learn on homework, quizzes, and exams with confidence. I focus on breaking problems into smaller steps, identifying where confusion starts, and adapting explanations to each student’s learning style.

I am most comfortable working with middle school, high school, and early college students in math and physics. My goal is to create a supportive, focused learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can build real confidence in their problem-solving skills. I am committed to continuing to grow as a tutor and helping each student make steady, meaningful progress.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I will be starting as an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho this fall and have a strong background in algebra, problem-solving, and technical mathematics. Much of my own learning has been self-taught, which has helped me develop a more intuitive and approachable way of explaining concepts rather than relying only on formal classroom methods. I focus on helping students understand why each step works so they can build confidence and solve problems independently. I am comfortable helping with core Algebra 1 topics including equations, graphing, functions, inequalities, and systems of equations.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I will be starting as an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho this fall and have a strong foundation in algebra and problem-solving. My learning style is largely self-directed, which has helped me develop clear and intuitive ways of explaining concepts without relying heavily on formal classroom methods. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each step so they can confidently solve problems on their own. I am comfortable tutoring Algebra 2 topics including functions, quadratic equations, polynomial operations, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations.
Geometry

Geometry

I will be starting as an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho this fall and have a strong foundation in geometry, algebra, and problem-solving. My learning approach is largely self-directed, which has helped me develop clear and intuitive ways of explaining geometric concepts without relying heavily on formal classroom methods. I frequently use geometry in physics simulations, spatial modeling, and hardware design work, which has given me a practical understanding of how geometric relationships appear in real-world systems. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind diagrams, theorems, and proofs so they can confidently apply concepts to problems. I am comfortable tutoring core geometry topics including triangles, circles, transformations, similarity, and coordinate geometry.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a 1540 on the SAT with a 790 in the Math section, missing only one question due to time constraints. This experience gave me a strong understanding of both the content and the test-taking strategies needed for high performance under time pressure. I will be starting as an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho this fall and have a strong foundation in algebra, functions, and problem-solving. My approach focuses on helping students understand not just how to solve problems, but how to recognize patterns and choose efficient methods during timed exams. I am comfortable tutoring all SAT Math topics, including algebra, advanced functions, geometry, and word problems, with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and strategy.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I will be starting as an Electrical Engineering honors student at the University of Idaho this fall and have a strong foundation in trigonometry, algebra, and problem-solving. My learning style is largely self-directed, which has helped me develop clear and intuitive ways of explaining trig concepts without relying heavily on memorized formulas or formal classroom methods. I frequently use trigonometry in physics simulations, signal analysis, and hardware-related modeling, which has helped me build a practical understanding of how trig functions describe real-world behavior such as waves, rotations, and periodic motion. I focus on helping students understand the unit circle, identities, and right-triangle trig in a way that makes problems easier to visualize and solve. I am comfortable tutoring core trig topics including sine, cosine, tangent, identities, and equations.
