As a veteran teacher of 18 years and a recent graduate of a master's program in education, I have worked extensively with writing, both as a teacher and student. As a tutor over several years, I have refined my craft to focus on the Writing process and work with my clients to brainstorm, plan an effective essay, then use the plan from which to write. Incorporating meaningful and unique transitions are incorporated to ensure the essays flow. The essay will contain a satisfying ending that effectively summarizes the "takeaways" that are based on the goals you set as the writer.
Most importantly, as part of this process, we recap the unique steps from your learning so that you will have the tools and confidence to navigate a similar task with little or no coaching.
I earned a single-subject credential in Mathematics, in addition to a multiple-subject credential to teach at the elementary level. I focus on conceptual understanding and communication of mathematical concepts using the language of a mathematician. You will learn a unique method to plan and explain your mathematical logic. While precision is paramount, organizing your work and communicating logical steps to a solution is a valuable skill beyond math.
I recently earned my master's degree in Education with an emphasis on Curriculum & Instruction and a concentration in Gifted Education. Throughout that journey, I wrote in excess of 700 pages for assignments, projects, and signature assignments - many hours invested in practicing writing to meet very high standards. That experience, along with 18 years of teaching and tutoring, allows me to be uniquely qualified to be your writing coach. I am patient, respectful, and will write with you as we work together.
