HI!! I'm James!

For the last 6 years I have been a live in teacher for the children of a nanotech executive. I was previously the Education Director for the Boys and Girls Club and worked for DUKE in their (TIP) Talent Identification Program. I have also worked at Capitol One, Boeing, and We Share INC.

I have a BA in Biblical Studies and a MA in Divinity from Azusa Pacific University. I can read the text in Greek and Hebrew as well as discuss any theological bible questions ad nauseam. I have tutored in this subject for 16 plus years as well as worked as a pastor and small group leader. I can teach on interpretation (hermeneutics, exegesis), Christology, systematic theology, multicultural evangelism, honor and shame, history, setting, pericopes, genres, chiasms, antithetical and synthetic parallelism, merisms, and the beliefs of the Ancient Near Eastern cultures. I took 4 years of acting for television from Renee' Raudman. The class used Roy Londons style of method acting. I have done interpretive work on over a thousand films and read multiple books on interpretive style and creation. I have created and edited over 50 products and worked alongside BIOLA's Film chair.

I have taken 4 years of Film Study acting lessons and performed in front of 500+ people multiple times. I have professionally spoken to groups of 50+ in classrooms and I led a small group of 24 people for 2 years.

Reading

If you come to me for nothing else, come for critical reading skills. I have spent the last 13 years studying extensively and debating publicly what can be implied from written text. Not just the letter but the spirit. If you want to be an accurate interpreter of information both written and oral, come to me. Not to mention I got a perfect score on their reading test.
Religion

I have a Master's degree in Divinity. My degree includes over 90 masters units in Ancient Near Eastern cultures and worship, Third World theologies, occult practices, divination, Buddhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism. Critical Reading. This section of the SAT is a monster. Context clues, obscure dated vocabulary, and probably the first time you have taken a test that is DESIGNED to trick you. While you can only improve SO much over the few months most people prepare for the SAT, I have some clues to help you along.

Very engaging and creative!

We have been seeing James for a few weeks now and we have been very impressed with his teaching style and communication. He spent time getting to know my daughter and has been assisting her to better comprehend and interpret ideas and concepts that she has been struggling with. He checks in with me as well to make sure that he is addressing any academic concerns I have for her that she may not have communicated with him. So far, thumbs up!!
