Hi, I’m Sophie! I’m currently a 12th grade student with a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.85 weighted GPA, and I will be attending UCLA in the fall to study Psychobiology on the pre-med track. Throughout high school, I’ve taken 13 AP classes and held leadership positions as President of both the Biology Club and Ecology Club, which has strengthened both my academic skills and my ability to guide and support others.

In my experience, the best learning environments come from teachers who are not only knowledgeable, but also patient, engaging, and genuinely invested in their students’ success. I strive to bring that same approach to my tutoring by creating a positive and encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
I am a certified AVID tutor and currently work with high school students at my school, providing academic support for volunteer hours. I specialize in Biology and SAT Reading/Writing test preparation, and I use a structured, step-by-step teaching method to help students fully understand concepts before moving forward. I also make sure to include time for independent practice so students can apply what they’ve learned and feel confident working on their own.
My teaching style is flexible and can be adjusted based on each student’s needs and learning style. Whether it’s breaking down complex topics, preparing for exams, or improving study strategies, my goal is to make learning both effective and manageable.
I have a flexible schedule and am available for both online and in-person sessions. I am easy to reach, respond quickly, and am always open to feedback to ensure I’m supporting students in the best way possible. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session!
