Hola! Just finished my 25th year as a Teacher of Spanish in a high-achieving 7-12 grade public school in SoCal (Orange County), while traveling regularly to Colombia to visit family, creating teaching products and giving workshops for WL Teachers in my area, serving as an AP Reader and Early Table Leader in the summers, and tutoring individuals and groups on the side. I love what I do, and money is helpful - but the reason I do so much is because I'm a life-long learner and I think anyone can learn Spanish and improve their life by becoming multilingual and culturally sensitive and aware. In my tutoring experience, I've had business professionals and companies contract me to help them travel and close deals in Spanish, school administrators have requested my help to connect with Spanish-speaking families and students in writing and in person, parents have hired me to help test prep their kids for a variety of exams (SAT2, AP, Placement, finals, etc.) and also to improve their Spanish class grade. My experience teaching Spanish is vast, as is my professional network, and my tutoring up to now has been through word of mouth. I'd like to increase it in a structured way, while still personalizing curriculum and strategies for learning to the student, their learning styles, interests, and needs. I offer a uniquely L2 and heritage learner perspective, as I am a heritage Serbian speaker who learned Spanish in school and in study abroad in Venezuela, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Vamos... comencemos!
