Hello, my name is Lauren! Currently, I am the Moderator for the Masters in Medical Sciences program at Southern California University of Health Sciences, where I serve as an advisor and mentor to my students by providing them with academic guidance and support to prepare them for a career in the health professional field. Also, I am an Instructor in the Bachelors in Health Sciences program at the university. I have my MS in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from California State University, Long Beach and BS in Nutritional Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for Exercise Physiology and Weight Training and Conditioning, as well as a graduate assistant for the exercise physiology lab. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach/Nutrition Consultant where I trained and mentored athletes in sports performance and recovery, as well as, academic and career goals. Additionally, I educated gym members on proper nutrition and consulted individuals on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Given my background and experience in academia and working with students, I am looking forward to helping additional students succeed in their coursework. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and working with students, as I personally understand the impact a teacher/professor can have on an individual's life and career choices. I was fortunate to have a few excellent professors and mentors in my academic career and am passionate about helping students succeed in academics, and helping them with professional development.
MS in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition; BS in Nutritional Science minors in Biology and Psychology; Instructor for Nutrition in Health and Human Performance course.
