Hello! I am currently and undergraduate at University of California San Diego, studying Neurobiology. Along side academics, I have pursued music and dance for about 11 years of my life.
I am a Grade 8 standing in Classical Piano and Grade 7 in Classical and Jazz Concert Flute from Trinity College London music teacher. Through the 11 years I have gained various experience in teaching children music from beginner to intermediate levels. I can aid in teaching basic skills such as sight reading, musical technicality and also preparing the child for Examinations with Trinity/ABRSM coursework. I started learning music during my time in the UK and continued when I moved to India and now San Diego. In university I continue to pursue completing my diploma in Classical Piano from Trinity College London while actively playing first concert flute in the Student Symphony Orchestra, performing a concert quarterly. While teaching children in India I devised a comprehensive plan on how to introduce music in a structured way including how to read, understand and interpret all the details. I have a flexible schedule and can adjust to the student's timings.
Music remains a passion however at UC San Diego I am pursuing a BSc in Neurobiology with a minor in Cognitive Science and Dance. Biology remains a main focus in life which I balance out with music and dance. With two younger siblings currently in 10th and 11th grade who I tutor on a daily basis, I remain well versed with the biology and chemistry curriculum. I performed the in the top 3 of my class in Biology in IGCSE board exams as well as A level last year.
Furthermore, I have intensively trained for classical ballet starting at the age of 6. I completed RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) with distinctions until Grade 5 and currently at an ISTD Intermediate level. I am able to keep my love for classical ballet continuing in college as I took intermediate ballet with the Theatre and Dance Department at UC San Diego last quarter and am currently taking Advanced ballet.
